The Christian life is hard. In fact, it is impossible without the presence and power of the Holy Spirit in us. As Christians, we are called to walk by the Spirit, which means that we are to rely or depend on the power of the Holy Spirit to guide and influence our lives. To walk in step with the Spirit requires that we submit our lives to the Holy Spirit’s control, and that we respond in obedience to the work of the Spirit and the work of the word of God in our lives.
